As I was reading this, I kept thinking about how I found you when you were writing articles and dreaming of writing a book one day. Now you're a full-fledged author working on your 2nd and 3rd books. I hope you're able to take moments to appreciate how hard you've worked and how far you've come. Your success is inspiring, and I'm so happy for you!

Omg I did NOT know Project Hail Mary was becoming a movie with RYAN GOSLING. Read the book two months ago and haven't stopped thinking about it since this is fantastic news.

The Pitt really is that girl, and no one I've talked to about it can put a finger on why that is?? But it just works. I'm also thinking about the project Hail Mary movie and can't wait AND I love those sunglasses !!!

Thank you!!

And yes!! It really works but it's true that it's hard to figure out why! My best guess is simply Noah lol. He really holds the whole thing together.

You had me at title. Mentally, I am way too close to emailing Noah Wyle for my next sick note.

You’ve inspired me to start The Pitt! I’ve been meaning to, but a little afraid of commitment because I loved ER, and became a little obsessed with it when between jobs/sick with the flu/locked down.

(That aside I do recommend it and think it’s worth a look from the beginning, if only to suss young George Clooney’s magnetism and shout “oh my god, Stanley Tucci!/Sally Field!/Busy Philips!*”

*the guest star list is truly too long to fathom, but such a delight)

I've talked about it a couple times since actually!! And in the most recent ep :) Such a beautiful story. Definitely one of the most fully felt characters I've ever read. So special.

Never been here before but was looking up writing on THE PITT. I laughed quite hard over this:

" If I ran into this man on the street, I would feel completely comfortable letting him intubate me." LOL. Thanks! Enjoyed your comments.

Haven’t watched The Pitt yet but saw some details from the press tour. Apparently the actors did a couple weeks of medical boot camp before filming. Those playing doctors did 2 weeks and nurses did 1 week. I also saw somewhere it mentioned that doctors have commented that it’s the most accurate medical show they’ve seen. Needless to say I’m intrigued and Noah Wyle might actually be able to intubate you haha

on the topic of pharmaceutical commercials in general: they play the same ones over and over again on every streaming service we watch, to the point that my daughter has dances to each of them and has favorites (skyrizzi is her favorite, thanks for asking)

other things: 1) the great believers is one of my favorite books ever 2) the pitt is the first medical show i've seen since early Grey's to be SO in the zeitgeist (which means my interest is SO piqued it might be the first medical show i will have watched since denny duquette was alive) 3) "if you're curious" olivia i have never clicked anything faster!!

“If I ran into this man on the street, I would feel completely comfortable letting him intubate me.” This made me CACKLE! But also so real.

Also, I know it’s old by now but I need to know if you’ve seen the Walton Goggins video with Architectural Digest. Have you ever run into him?

Great Believers!!! Such a good one.

I am so excited for the PHM movie. I’m still getting over the Ryan Gosling casting because he’s really not what I saw in my head, but I’m putting that aside 😪
