Last Friday, I took the day off to do… well, nothing. Boring things. Reading in the morning. Going to the gym for an hour in the afternoon. Running errands at Target. Eating a meal by myself. There was no real goal to the day other than to remind myself of the simple, everyday stuff that makes me feel good, most of which tend to be things that fall by the wayside when life gets busy or hectic. I skip morning reading and drink my coffee while checking my email instead. I tell myself I’ll get to the gym tomorrow, or next week. I don’t really make time for anything fun, even if it’s something as simple as going to Target. So I gave myself a day to do it all, and honestly? It was great.
